About this place
Thick cuts of domestic pork sizzle over the tabletop griddle at Zamion in Higashi-Nippori. The restaurant's signature samgyeopsal is prepared directly at the table by staff, who grill the meat until crisp on the outside and tender within before cutting it into bite-sized pieces. Diners can wrap the piping-hot pork in fresh lettuce leaves with sesame oil, seasoned ssamjang, garlic, green chillies, and grilled kimchi, yielding a balanced bite of sweet pork and punchy condiments.
Beyond grilled meats, the seafood and scallion pancake is a standout, bound with minimal batter to highlight the natural sweetness of the spring onions and seafood. It functions equally well as a savoury drinking snack or a satisfying main. The kitchen also prepares slow-cooked soups, from rich seolleongtang drawn from beef marrow and bone to comforting sundubu-jjigae infused with the briny sweetness of clams.
At lunchtime, sets featuring seolleongtang, jjigae, or sizzling dolsot bibimbap arrive alongside banchan side dishes. By night, tables fill with groups sharing budae-jjigae or beef intestine hot pots over bottles of draft makgeolli and soju. Chilled naengmyeon noodles made in-house and tender steamed bossam round out a menu suited to solo diners and lively gatherings alike.
